Happy Valentine’s Weekend!

It’s that time of year where the color red is everywhere, and people are professing their love for one another. Valentine’s Day is certainly not just about loving your significant other, but also your family and your close friends. With it being on a Sunday this year (and not snowed out like last year), you can look forward to an entire weekend of celebrating.

Boston Wine Expo

This weekend will be the 25th anniversary of the Boston Wine Expo at the Seaport World Trade Center. I was lucky to win two tickets (thanks again Marie!) to the Sunday Grand Tasting, so David and I will be enjoying some wines from around the world that afternoon. We went in 2014 and had a great time. There was a lot of snow that year too!

Dining Out

Like I mentioned above, last year was one of the worst when it came to the weather. Valentine’s Day almost felt like it had been cancelled since so many restaurants couldn’t open due to the blizzard. Although this year is projected to be frigid cold, at least there will be no precipitation. So bundle up, and get your dining on!

Some of my favorite restaurants for a romantic evening are Bistro du Midi, erbaluce, Grill 23, Legal Harborside, or Sonsie.

Don’t forget to check out OpenTable.com for any special Valentine’s Day menus and to make your reservations!

Or Staying In

Did I mention that it’s supposed to get in the negative temps this weekend? I certainly wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to stay in and make a nice dinner or bake up something sweet.

SIDE NOTE: When I transferred my blog back to WordPress last summer, all of my posts (at least the ones that came over successfully) were broken, so I ended up making them private. A lot of them are still around, just with no pictures. Over the course of the next few months I plan on “resurrecting” the posts (i.e. recipes and restaurant reviews) since I hope that they could be helpful to those looking for new recipe ideas or wanting to travel to the Boston area. Get ready for a lot of classic Jogging Concierge! 😛

Stopping to Smell the Roses

Although this could be taken in the literal context, it’s also a time to slow down and think about what your loved ones mean to you. Whether that’s your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/parents/best friend/dog walker, make sure to let those people know that you care about them.

Have a wonderful weekend, whatever your plans may be! ❤
